Description

The Pastor:

A central priority of the pastor’s job is maintaining the reverence required in our worship services to honor our Lord Jesus Christ through His written, read, preached, and visible word through the sacraments.  The pastor provides leadership, prayerfully working with the session to develop and execute ministry plans and support the activities mentioned above.  He should be committed to teaching the Bible with a view to application and consistently speak the truth in love.  Theministry of the pastor includes regular visits to members who are in the hospital, nursing home, or homebound.  He should also seek to be available to counsel, help apply the wisdom of Scripture, and to pray with those in need.  The pastor is expected to exhibit a daily walk with the Lord that displays integrity, humility, and discipleship, encouraging others as they seek to do the same.  A willingness to work with other biblically minded local ministers is important as well as a firm commitment to Reformed theology as defined by the Westminster Confession of Faith and the Larger and Shorter catechisms.
