Pastor of Growth 

The Pastor of Growth is a lead discipler who equips the saints for the work of ministry. He is rooted in Christ and loves people. He is teachable, humble, patient while plowing, planting, and watering seeds of the Gospel of Jesus Christ for His glory and for His Church. 

Spiritual Life Requirements

• Love God (Deuteronomy 6:4-5)
• Love people (Luke 10:27)
• Love the Church; wholeheartedly agree and champion the Mission and Vision of Marco Presbyterian Church
• Trust deeply in God and show evidence of the fruit of the Spirit (John 15:1-5)
• Understand and commit to life-long, life-on-life discipleship (Psalm 1, Romans 12:1-2, 2 Corinthians 3:17-18, Ephesians 3:16-19; 4:15-16, Philippians 3:12, 1 Thessalonians 2:1-12, 1 Thessalonians 5:23, 1 John 1:8-10, and WCF 13)
• Is ordained or ordainable in the PCA
• Has a high level of self-awareness and is committed to ongoing relational and professional development. Demonstrates Christ-centered living (1 Peter 1:15-16, 1 Timothy 3:1–7; Titus 1:5–9), honesty, confidence, teachability, humility (Philippians 2:5-7), patience, and commitment in working with others (James 1:4)

Primary Leadership Objectives

• Spiritual Growth – Lead, supervise, champion, and coach discipleship at Marco; including Children’s Coordinator, Student Ministry Director, and small group and Bible study leaders.
• Membership – Work alongside the lead pastor to invite, host, and follow up with those who connect to Marco Church to and through membership classes. Connect Christians to life-long discipleship and build friendships with neighbors.
• Communication / Teaching – Effectively communicate the Gospel through preaching and teaching ministry, as well as coaching and facilitating small group training environments for the purpose of Gospel-fruitfulness with multiple generations and transient people groups.
• Hospitality – Lead in forming and coaching volunteer teams for Sunday morning hospitality to foster community and connections to one another and God.
• Strategic – Employ creativity in implementing Marco Church’s mission, vision, and values with Gospel foundations, entrepreneurial spirit, and wise decision-making.
• Administrative – Possess excellent problem-solving skills, professional and capable management of self and others, and skill in word processing, email, and online proficiency.
• Classic Pastoral Tag – Assist two other pastors in shepherding a small congregation with hundreds of guests each year. (preach, teach, pray, visit, connect, serve, listen, forgive)

Compensation

Full-time salaried role with 4 weeks of vacation, 1 week study leave, and office snacks.
