JOB DESCRIPTION
Wellspring Family Church is seeking a part-time (20 hours per week) Children’s Director to join an exciting church environment. Wellspring has a strong desire to minister to the next generation because not only is it crucial to train children and reach them for Jesus when they are young, it is often a first step in reaching an entire family. Wellspring is a 2.5 year old church of 250.
GENERAL DUTIES
· Lead, recruit, develop, equip, and encourage team members to serve in Children’s Ministry (birth - 5th grade) – while communicating the mission of reaching kids and families for Christ.
· Set an example of spiritual leadership and a passion for Christ.
· Build Christ-centered and Gospel relationships with children and families.
· Work with staff to set ministry goals and outcomes, think and work systematically to see overall church growth.
· Be a visible leader, help to execute the vision of the church, and lead the Children’s Ministry into its next season of growth.
PROGRAM RESPONSIBILITIES
· Sunday School
o Recruit and train volunteers
o Connect with families
o Keep roster and safety information of all children
o Select and implement curriculum
o Monitor classrooms on Sunday mornings
o Create and maintain classroom schedules
o Monitor and purchase supplies as needed
· Wellspring Kids Club (Wednesday evening program)
o Support the Club commander
· Camp Motion (Summer one-week Day Camp)
o Support the Director as needed
o Participate in camp and backup in areas when needed
· Big Splash Events (all-church outreach events)
o Coordinate with Event Team to involve children and families in Big Splash events
o Follow up with visiting families
· Safety and Security
o Maintain children’s policies that extend to all children’s events
o Maintain volunteer roster and ensure all volunteers have current background checks on file as well as completion of abuse prevention training
· King’s Kids Camp
o Promote annual regional Evangelical Free Church overnight summer camp for 4th-9th graders
· Other
o Manage budget for Children’s Ministry
o Attend monthly Directional Team meeting
o Schedule childcare volunteers for other church functions, as needed

Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
Successful candidates will have a clear love for children, an understanding of child development, and experience working in Children’s Ministry in a leadership position.
- Education
- Undergraduate degree preferred
- Background in education or ministry preferred
- Work or Volunteer Experience
- 2+ years of experience in a children’s ministry in a leadership capacity, or equivalent relevant experience

This position reports to Associate Pastor Steve Otey, a 20-year veteran in Youth and Family Ministry.
