Description
Central Christian School is seeking a Christ filled, dynamic and warm individual to serve our school as
our JK assistant teacher. The classroom teacher has ultimate responsibility for the design and
implementation of curriculum and instruction. The assistant teacher will serve, as directed by the
classroom teacher, to support implementation of curriculum and instructional objectives, including
daily instruction as well as grade level special events/activities and field trips. The assistant teacher will
strive to complement the teacher’s methods and strategies in meeting the needs of each child.
Teaching Responsibilities:
● Provides planned support to children on an individual, class or small group basis as determined
by teacher’s instructional plans and active observation
● Interacts with students in a positive, respectful and caring manner
● Develops relationship and rapport with students to better understand their individual
characteristics
● Works cooperatively with other classroom teachers and assistant teachers
● Participates and contributes as a member of the instructional team in team planning meetings
● Demonstrates a tactful, ethical, respectful, caring and cooperative manner with adults in the
school community, including parents and colleagues.
● Communicates with appropriate administrators and/or personnel to resolve questions,
concerns or problems
● Consistently show understanding, respect, and sensitivity for cultural differences
● Build strong, positive working relationships with parents
● Support the Central Christian School mission

Requirements
Qualifications:
● A profession of faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior
● Personally affirm Central’s Statement of Faith
● A member of a Bible-teaching Christian church
● Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood education or Education, preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
● Be a Christ follower whose relationship is defined by having received Christ as Savior and a
pursuit of spiritual growth
● Knowledge of child development, learning and behavior
● Skill in critical thinking and planning
● Calm and patient demeanor with students
