Fardale Trinity Church (non-denominational evangelical Christian church in Mahwah, New Jersey) seeks an experienced, ordained pastor to serve as the church’s full-time senior pastor. The candidate must have the qualifications of a pastor found in 1 Timothy 3. The primary role of the Senior Pastor is to introduce people to Christ, disciple them in spiritual growth, train them in serving Christ with their life, equip them to tell others about Jesus, and grow followers through a personal and purposeful
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Creating and executing a long-term vision for Fardale Trinity Church.
- Be an engaging teacher and preacher, with a strong biblical background, who is in agreement with Fundamental Truths and Statement of Faith of our congregation. Deliver weekly sermons throughout the year, in conjunction with the associate pastor.
- Prepare, organize and lead effective programs implementing worship, biblical teaching, discipleship, and evangelism that lead to the individual and collective growth of the congregation.
- Identify, recruit, train and disciple volunteer staff with diverse gifts and personalities.
- Provide counseling and spiritual direction to congregation on an individual and family basis.
- In conjunction with the Board of Elders, develop and oversee the church operating and missions budget, annual goals and objectives, and program development to deliver both short and long term goals of the church.
- Build relationships with associate pastor and other paid staff, developing a cohesive ministry team with likeness of mind, and fostering organizational alignment to church and ministry goals and objectives.
- Visit those who are sick, elderly, or shut-in.
- Perform special services, such as weddings, funerals, and holiday services throughout the year.
Salary: $60K-$89K
Requirements
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Five to ten years of successful pastoral or church ministry experience preferred.
- Bachelor’s Degree from a four year accredited college or university.
- Master’s degree from an accredited theological seminary.
- Must be eligible to be/ on path to ordination.
- Gifted and called to ministry, one who loves people, and has a passion for evangelism and outreach, both personally and at the ministry level.
- Must possess personal character and financial standing that is above reproach.
- Ability to apply Scripture to all ministry and life situations (e.g. counseling, conflict resolution, church discipline).
- A compassionate shepherd, with a strong focus on discipling and mentoring the flock towards spiritual maturity
- Expository preacher who inspires and challenges the congregation
- Inspired servant-leader, modeling ministry for congregation to follow, and led by the Holy Spirit.
OTHER DUTIES
Fardale Trinity Church is a board led, congregationally ruled, non-denominational, unaffiliated church. The Senior Pastor will serve as our lead shepherd and administrator for our multi-generational congregation in conjunction with our associate pastor, paid staff and volunteers.
