Description


Rooftop is an inter-denominational, energetic, growing, medium-sized, 20-year-old Christian church reaching a diversity of people in an inner suburb of St. Louis. More than your typical post-modern church, Rooftop maintains a commitment to big-tent Biblical orthodoxy while also embracing authenticity, humor and even a bit of irreverence for the sake of reaching all kinds of people with the love and truth of Jesus. After moving into a larger, renovated building in November 2016 and getting ready to successfully launch a daughter-church in the summer of 2020, we are ready to consider our next steps as a congregation. These next steps include upgrading our administrative staff to include a full-time church office assistant who can oversee the church office, be responsible for many of the administrative duties, and support the administrative needs of the staff and church leaders.


RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Manage church office: supervise inventory, handle mail, organize office, receive guests, respond to inquiries.
  • Assist staff members with administrative needs, especially communication, database management, and printing of materials.
  • Assist Rooftots Children’s Ministry, and other deacon-led ministries, with administrative needs.
  • Coordinate building requests and help manage use.
  • Assist with execution of Sunday morning service: assemble program, purchase supplies, prepare building.
  • Supervise a group of deacons/leaders, including the volunteer Admin Team and Kitchen Team.
  • Miscellaneous responsibilities as required by all Rooftop staff members.

Requirements


QUALIFICATIONS: 


  • Administrative/office experience strongly preferred.
  • Computer skills required: Outlook, Excel, Word, Database management. Knowledge of Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop a plus.
  • Ability to learn website design and management and social media platforms a plus. Experience with marketing, branding, and technology tools a plus.
  • Skills in writing and editing.
  • Detail-oriented and organized. Willing to take initiative and able to solve problems.
  • Able to work in a fun but demanding environment with a variety of personalities.
  • Spiritually mature and able to contribute to pastoral conversations and decision-making.
  • Able to handle conflict in a Biblical way, with a healthy relational history.
  • Willing to make Rooftop your church home as a fully-involved member. (This involves commitment to Rooftop’s theology, purpose, and values.) 
  • Willing to work 30+ hours, 4 days a week (Tuesday through Friday), and available on weeknights and weekends for special events or meetings.
