Description
West End Community Church is seeking a Senior High Director of Guys to help meet the needs of our expanding youth group and grow the overall student ministry. The candidate should have a passion to impact the lives of senior high guys through relational, Gospel-driven ministry. A genuine love of students, ability to pursue them and humbly engage them with the Gospel through grace & love is a must. The position will entail student engagement, teaching, volunteer coordination/development, event planning, and strategic planning. An evident joy and desire to have fun must be displayed by the candidate!
Salary: $30K-$59K
Requirements
Basic Requirements:
- Growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
- Mature and cohesive working relationship with Youth Director and Youth Ministry team.
- Desire and ability to work effectively with youth, young adults, parents, diverse individuals, and teams of volunteers.
- Ability to work cooperatively with others, maintain a positive disposition and flexibility in solving problems.
- Excellent time management, communication, organizational, and execution skills.
- Commitment to timeliness, reliability, and excellence in all things.
- Takes initiative in accessing, meeting and completing needs.
- Gift of gospel-centered teaching in an engaging manner to all students of the ministry.
- Ability and desire to seek direction, confront, and apologize.
- Willing to engage difficulties and conflict with humility.
- Basic lay-counseling and listening skills appropriate for youth ministry.
Education and Experience:
- Minimum education requirement: Bachelors degree (seminary degree preferred)
- 2+ years of ministry experience desirable.
- Proven capability for leading a discipleship ministry.
- Track record of developing personal relationships and building ministry structure.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities:
- Aid in developing, organizing and leading the Sunday School ministry to students.
- Aid in developing, organizing and leading small group discipleship ministry to bring students to maturity in Christ.
- Aid in developing, organizing and leading special activities, such as, mission trips, retreats, and other events that foster relationship building, spiritual maturity, and advancement of the kingdom.
- Aid in building and shepherding a community of volunteers to invest in the lives of students and lead in the various programs for the youth ministry (fellowship, coaching, care, accountability, etc.)
- Meet regularly with youth ministry staff, lay leaders and volunteers (check-ins, lunch, accountability, etc).
- Meet regularly with students encouraging and directing them toward a committed relationship with Jesus Christ (1v1, school visits, games/plays, etc).
- Complete regular maintenance tasks associated with a growing youth ministry (stocking hospitality supplies, gathering ministry supplies, etc).
