POSITION OVERVIEW
This position works with the Senior Pastor, Session, and Staff in the organizational structure and operations of the church and its ministries for the execution of GCC’s overall vision.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Discipleship
· Provide pastoral oversight, training, and support for Life Groups (our small group ministry).
· Take the lead in other discipleship ministries, including a focus on both large group and individual structures of discipleship within the congregation.
· Be engaged in personal disciple-making with members of the congregation.
Outreach
· Provide training and encouragement for personal evangelism and neighborhood engagement.
· Strategize avenues for the church to increase its presence and impact in the community for the sake of the gospel.
Other Pastoral Duties
· Be engaged in the shepherding of the congregation alongside the Session and Senior Pastor.
· Serve in Sunday worship in the sacraments & liturgy.
· Based on the candidate’s ability and desire, assist Senior Pastor in preaching duties (about 4–8 times a year).
COMPENSATION
· Full-time position compensation commensurate with experience
· 4 weeks of paid vacation.
Salary: $60K-$89K
Requirements
SELECTION CRITERIA & QUALIFICATIONS
· Possessing the traits of an elder found in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1 and sound in the Reformed faith as summarized in the Westminster Standards.
· Masters of Divinity Degree or equivalent.
· Ministry experience demonstrating giftedness for the above areas of ministry.
· Ordained or ordainable as a Teaching Elder in the Presbyterian Church of America (PCA).
