Ministry to State

As a ministry of Mission to North America, Ministry To State (MTS) exists to minister to those serving in government at the state and national levels, as well as internationally. MTS seeks to accomplish this by: 1) exposing those in the government to the transforming truths of the gospel; 2) providing encouragement and support in the development of a Biblical world view for those in government who profess faith in Christ; 3) contributing to establish and maintain a Biblical conscience throughout the government community; 4) providing a healthy means to connect the church in non-partisan manner with those in government; and 5) promoting and facilitating specific and intelligent prayer by the body of Christ for those serving in government. Currently, MTS operates out of seven state capitals and Washington, D.C.


Summary Statement of Overall Purpose/Goal of Position

The position of MTS Florida Women’s Ministry Associate reports to the Florida State Capitol Minister. The MTS Men’s Ministry Associate provides direction in developing and managing MTS’s ministry to women serving in the Florida State Government (Legislative offices of the House and Senate, Executive branch offices and agencies of the Governor and Cabinet, and the offices of the Judiciary including the Florida Supreme Court).


All responsibilities and tasks associated with the role of MTS Women’s Ministry Associate will ultimately help to fulfill MNA’s purpose to cultivate Kingdom advancement through the PCA in North America. 


Major Responsibilities

The MTS Women’s Ministry associates provides service to women in the government arena in the following major ways:

  • Developing and leading women’s Bible studies
  • Organizing and leading women’s prayer meetings
  • Building relationships with other women to support them through prayer and personal discipleship
  • Organizing and helping to host MTS events for women in government and, on occasion, events for men and women
  • Speaking at churches and sharing from the Bible about ministering to those serving in government
  • Helping staffers develop an integrated understanding of faith and work, and how to apply a Biblical worldview to their work in a non-partisan manner
  • Writing material for use in MTS publications as needed
  • Developing and maintaining financial support, and regularly communicating with donors
  • Working with other MTS staff to further the mission and vision of MTS

Position Requirements

  • A Christian whose life reflects mature, spiritual growth and is active in a local PCA or other evangelical church.
  • A Christian who views the position as both a vocation (responsibility) and as a ministry (service)
  • A bachelor’s degree and/or seminary education in Bible or Theological studies
  • Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build meaningful relationships in a politically and socially diverse environment
  • Effective communicator, oral and written, with ability to raise and maintain support
  • Ability to work well independently
