Overview

The Director of Worship at First Baptist Church of Collinsville (FBC) will provide worship team leadership for the worship services. The music in our worship services is a blend of contemporary praise music and hymns.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Director of Worship will be responsible for:

·      Creating an environment of worship which encourages members of the church body to encounter the presence of God during the worship service. This includes the selection and planning of the music, video, and drama for the services.

·      Planning the worship services in cooperation with the Sr. Pastor

·      Leading the Worship Team during worship services at FBC.

·      The coordination and rehearsal of the Worship Team for execution of the worship services

·      Finding substitute leaders for rehearsals or the worship services when unable to attend.

·      The recruitment and oversight of the musicians and vocalists for the Worship Team.

·      The purchase of music and any other materials used in the worship services (videos, drama scripts) as per the approved annual budget.

·      Maintain copyright records and adhere to lawful guidelines applicable to the use of copyrighted material

Work Schedule

The Worship Leader will be expected to:

·      Attend weekly rehearsals and lead the worship team during the services.

·      Notify the Sr. Pastor of any substitutions 2 weeks in advance of the service.

Working Relationship

This position is under the general supervision of the Sr. Pastor.
