Description
Faith Community Church is an international church in Prague, Czech Republic. Founded in 2007 by Serge missionaries, Faith Community is part of the International Presbyterian Church denomination. Average Sunday attendance is 75 adults, 15 children. Approximately 20 different nationalities are represented, but we worship in English. Several mid-week Bible studies take place for small groups, men's and women's ministries. We host several other churches on the weekend (Czech, Ukrainian, Arabic-speaking), and our facility is used during the week for various community events (refugee kids, Alcoholics Anonymous, Prague Youth Group). Responsibilities:
Preaching/Teaching:
- Preach most Sundays
- Determine and plan sermon series
- Other teaching opportunities, seminars, Bible studies
Staff:
- Oversee small staff team (currently artist-in-residence / worship, part-time admin, part-time children’s), organize and lead staff meetings
- Meet regularly with staff members for ministry updates, strategizing for future ministry
Shepherding:
- Oversee shepherding of members and regular attenders of church
- Work with IPC elders to ensure shepherding and pastoral care is happening
Officers:
- Coordinate and facilitate officer meetings
- Work with deacons on budget and facility
- Work with elders on vision-casting and strategy development
Church ministry:
- Recruit, support, and - when possible - develop volunteer ministry leaders
IPC:
- Represent church to IPC
Salary: $0-$29K
Requirements
Requirements:
- A love for people and a love for the gospel of Jesus Christ
- A heart for Biblical worship, a commitment to the truth of Scripture, and a passion for prayer
- An ability to navigate and lead people of different cultural backgrounds
- An ability to live and serve in a cross-cultural setting
- A willingness to live in Prague for approximately three months (the longest time one can live in Czech Republic without a visa)
- Self-funded or already supported through a sending organization
