Description
New Covenant Presbyterian Church is seeking a Pastor of Young Adults and Outreach. This is a new position for our church, and we are excited for a new pastor to shepherd young adults and to extend our reach to the lost and broken in Aiken with the hope of the gospel. As our new pastor, you would oversee spiritual formation of our young adults, actively connect visitors to our church, and spearhead our local and international outreach efforts.
Primary Areas of Responsibility
- Oversee spiritual formation for young adults, including singles, couples, and families with children living at home.
- Cultivate new avenues of ministry with pastoral staff.
- Create strategies for involving more young adults in small group ministries.
- Provide pastoral care to young adults.
- Work with pastors to develop and train covenant group leaders.
- Teach adult Sunday School on a regular basis.
- Develop a leadership pipeline for new officers, in partnership with pastoral staff.
- Evaluate, develop, and oversee NCPC’s efforts to engage visitors.
- Assist members in developing evangelistic relationships with the unchurched.
- Create and maintain necessary structures to connect people to NCPC.
- Explore and develop new opportunities for NCPC to serve Aiken and its immediate surrounding communities.
- Promote missions and foster congregational involvement in missions outside of Aiken.
Other Areas of Responsibility
- Assist in worship leadership.
- Shepherd designated individuals and families.
- Preach occasionally (4-8x per year).
- Participate in presbytery and General Assembly.

Requirements
The ideal candidate will have an intimate relationship with Christ, a love for his church, biblical insight and discernment, a humble and teachable heart, a love for people, and a team mindset. It is also expected that the candidate will:
- Cultivate spiritual, intellectual, emotional, and physical health.
- Have a regular practice of prayer, Bible reading, study, and personal devotions.
- Nurture relationships with his wife and children (if applicable).
- Be ordained or ordainable in the Presbyterian Church in America.
