Summary: The Catawba Presbytery of the Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church seeks to call a man to lead a new church plant in Lexington, SC. The primary responsibility is to shepherd the existing core group and to reach the growing Lexington community.
Duties
Preaching & Shepherding
· Lead and preach during weekly Sunday morning worship
· Intentionally disciple and train the elder candidates of the church plant
· Lead members in community engagement and evangelism
· Provide personal spiritual care and encouragement for church members through the various seasons of their lives
Leadership & Administration
· Serve as the moderator of the provisional session
· Serve as the primary liaison between the presbytery and the church plant
· Oversee administrative details related to the church plant (building, website, office, denominational paperwork, etc.)
Salary: >=$90K
Requirements
Gifts and Competencies
· Must be able to preach clear, expository, Christ-centered sermons
· Must have gifts in discipleship and training
· Must be able to teach
· Must demonstrate a proficiency in written communication
· Must be able to enlist, coordinate, and lead staff and volunteer efforts to accomplish large and small projects well
· Must exhibit an eagerness and ability to share the gospel with non-Christians
· Must be comfortable working as part of a team
· Must have history of handling interpersonal conflicts according to biblical principles
Qualifications
· Must exhibit maturity as outlined in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1
· Master of Divinity Degree with Greek and Hebrew
· Must be licensed or ordained in the Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church, or eligible for ordination in Catawba Presbytery

A group of interested people:
First Presbyterian Church Columbia planted Grace ARP - Columbia 11 years ago with a group of people from Northeast Columbia with a heart for their neighbors to extend reformed worship into unreached areas. Now, FPC and Grace are looking to do the same thing. There is currently a group of FPC members that are passionate to see the gospel extended into Western Lexington County.
Two churches poised to support this plant:
What makes this plant unique is that it has, behind it, the passion and support of two congregations that believe firmly in spreading the gospel through church planting. These two churches also happen to be a 225-year-old mother church and an 11-year-old daughter church. These combined resources should provide ample support and experience for this new work.
A geographical location:
Based on demographic findings we believe the placement of an initial church plant should focus on Western Lexington County. The precise location of this plant will be reserved until we identify a church planter to be brought on to develop this work collaboratively with the Catawba Presbytery and the Provisional Session to pinpoint the mission focus and the final location for the church plant.
