Description
We will be hiring (nightly shift pay according to when scheduled to work) 1-3 people who can serve as Overnight Staff to take overall onsite responsibility from Shelter Opening to Closing each night, and a "floater" to fill in at various overnights nights or evenings.
Shelter Ministry Staff will either be working Overnight one night per week in our homeless women's shelter, or filling in, on a floating schedule for when other Staff are unable to be at the Shelter for part or all of their scheduled shifts.
Overnight Staff usually work from 6 p.m. to 6:15 a.m. on the same night per week as Shelter Staff, overseeing the shelter operation for that night, including the work of 2-3 volunteers, one of whom also stays overnight, and others who help with other roles for part of the evening or night. "Lights out," when all Staff, Volunteers and Guests are asked to be asleep is 10:30 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly, but sometimes circumstances mean that sleep is interrupted.
Those in this position are part of a lively and fun group of Staff who meet monthly or so for prayer and training and fellowship. Shifts pay less during sleeping hours but all hours at shelter are paid. Staff may be part of Grace & Peace Fellowsihp or another Christian church.
The primary qualifications are a relationship with the Lord Jesus, out of which flows a desire to be merciful and hospitable by participating in our Winter Shelter ministry. welcoming homeless women in our shelter. Those in this position are part of a lively and fun group of Staff who meet monthly or so for prayer and training and fellowship. Shifts pay less during sleeping hours but all hours at shelter are paid. Staff may be part of Grace & Peace Fellowsihp or another Christian church.

Requirements
The primary qualifications are:
-Love Jesus
-Love mercy
-Out of a genuine relationship with the Lord, the desire to hospitably welcome strangers into our church basmentas part of our 35+ year homeless shelter ministry for women.
-Compassion
-Availability Overnight at least one night per week during the coldest winter months, late November through mid-March. (Currently Saturday Overnights and alternate Thursday Overnights are available. This could change.)
-Availability to attend mid-November weekend training.
-Strong written and verbal communication in English.
-Desire to work as part of a mnistry team and willingness to particpate in team meetings monthly.
-Reliability in keeping commitments.
-Any urban or mercy ministry experience is a plus!
