Position Overview
Gaston Community Church (GCC) is a Christ-centered, Biblically based church in Gastonia, North Carolina. We are seeking a full-time Associate Pastor, reporting to the Senior Pastor and the Session, to help equip our congregation for ministry, with an emphasis on reaching unchurched people in our community. This position will be focused primarily, though not exclusively, on developing ministries for reaching young adults and young families.
Responsibilities
1. Personally and intentionally engage young adults and young families in our community with the gospel.
2. Lead development of ministries for young adults and families, including children and teens, which facilitate building relationships.
3. Plan local outreach opportunities that help our church demonstrate the love of Jesus to our community.
4. Work with the Senior Pastor to equip members to share the gospel with unbelievers and the unchurched in our community, with an emphasis on young adults and young families.
5. Support Senior Pastor and Elders with ministry responsibilities including preaching on Sunday mornings on a consistent basis, and teaching in various capacities.
6. Regular attendance and participation in weekly Sunday morning worship services.
7. Meet with the Senior Pastor on a weekly basis to pray, plan, and encourage one another.
8. Maintain weekly record of time spent in GCC ministry and submit report to the Session each month.
9. Attend monthly joint meeting of Elders and Deacons and monthly Session meeting.

Requirements
Qualifications
1. A follower of Jesus Christ, committed to the Bible as the inspired Word of God.
2. Meets the Biblical qualifications for leadership given in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9.
3. Demonstrated skills in evangelism.
4. Exhibits a genuine love for people of all ages and demonstrates an ability to communicate with unbelievers and the unchurched.
5. Affirms the doctrinal standards of the Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church, as expressed in the Westminster Confession of Faith. (This document can be found at our denominational website: www.arpchurch.org)
6. Bachelor’s Degree required. Seminary (M. Div.) degree also required (or actively nearing completion of the M.Div. degree).
Requirements
1. Successful background check.
2. Expected to reside in southeastern Gaston County.
