Description
Heartland Hospice has an ongoing need for Volunteers to visit with our patients diagnosed with life-limiting conditions whom have elected hospice care.
A hospice volunteer provides extra love and care to patients and their families. For example, the hospice volunteer may provide support by staying with the patient so family members can take a break, or they can run an errand for the patient, read scripture, play or sing a patient’s favorite song, hold the patient’s hand, and provide companionship to help reduce feelings of isolation and loneliness.
Heartland Hospice Volunteers truly make a difference in the lives of others! Volunteer assignments are generally in close proximity to your home, work, or school. The time you volunteer can be as little or as much as you desire.
Volunteering with hospice patients will help you give back to your community and assist you in gaining the experience you need in your future career.

Requirements
Heartland Hospice requires an application, training, background check and TB and N95 Mask Fit testing. Because our volunteers see patients, volunteers are held in to the same legal standards as employees. All regulations are covered in training.
