Position Overview - First Pres Moline is looking for a part-time Director of Next Gen Ministries with a heart for outreach who will provide leadership and direction to grow the children’s ministry (nursery - 5th) in creative, engaging, effective strategies, under the direction of the Senior Pastor.


Responsibilities:

  1. Program Development: Develop and implement a comprehensive children’s ministry program that engages children in biblical learning and discipleship.
  2. Outreach: provide leadership to the church in outreach to children and families in the community through creative ministry initiatives.
  3. Child Protection Policy: Oversee and enforce the church’s child protection policy to ensure a safe and God honoring environment for all children.
  4. Parent Collaboration: Work closely with parents to support them in their role as the primary spiritual leaders of their children.
  5. Volunteer Management: Recruit, train, and support volunteers in children’s ministry including scheduling volunteers for classrooms and nursery.
  6. Event Planning: Plan and coordinate special events for children and families (outreach, fellowship, etc.), ensure other church events warmly incorporate children and families.
  7. Curriculum Oversight: Assist with selection and implementation of biblically sound gospel-centered curriculum for children’s ministry programs.
  8. Communication: Maintain regular communication with church staff, volunteers, parents, and congregation about the children’s ministry.
  9. Collaboration: Work with other church staff in creative collaboration regarding ministry spaces, communication, fellowship, outreach, etc.

Salary: $0-$29K

Requirements


Qualifications:

  1. A strong personal faith in Jesus Christ and agreement with the church’s statement of faith (see EPC ‘Essentials of our Faith’ and Westminster Confession of Faith), understands covenantal approach to child discipleship.
  2. Previous experience in children’s ministry or related field.
  3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  4. Ability to work well with children, parents, and volunteers.
  5. Able to take direction from and collaborate with Senior Pastor
  6. Must pass a background check.
