Youth Leader
We are looking for an energetic person to grow our youth group. This position will start at an average of 10 hours a week.
- Must be available to teach youth Sunday School Sundays at 9AM and attend/participate in Worship Service Sundays at 10AM.
- Provide guidance and support to youth members
- Organize activities and events that promote growth and development
- Encourage youth to take on leadership roles within the group and church
- Mentor young people and help them set and achieve personal goals
- Collaborate with other organizations to create opportunities for youth
- Promote positive values and behaviors to the youth members
- Create a safe and engaging environment for youth
- Lead by example and establish a culture of respect among members
- Support youth in learning new skills, such as communication and problem-solving
- Monitor progress of youth members and document their achievements
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Communicate clearly and consistently with parents and other church staff
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to motivate and engage young people
- Knowledge of youth development principles
- Reports to Director of Ministries
We are an open hearts, open minds, open doors United Methodist Church. Familiarity with the Christian gospel and faith practices is required. Must be comfortable with LGBTQ+ and women in leadership. Our youth group is comprised of ages 6th grade through 12th grade. Must be able to pass a background check.
Job Type: Part-time
Salary: $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 10 per week
