Description


Central Christian School is seeking a Christ-filled, innovative, and passionate individual to serve our school as our Learning Specialist. This individual will be responsible for supporting academic student success to a broad range of learners and working collaboratively with teachers and parents. The learning specialist will provide direct instruction in small groups to enhance and support classroom instruction and address students' individual learning goals.

Salary: $30K-$59K

Requirements


Qualifications:

  • A profession of faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior
  • Personally affirm Central’s Statement of Faith
  • A member of a Bible-teaching Christian church
  • Bachelor’s or master's degree in Special Education or Education
  • Experience working with reading, writing, and math interventions, preferred, or willingness to learn 
  • Trained in Orton Gillingham or a willingness to learn
  • Two or more years of successful classroom experience, preferred


Job Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate small group, and one-on-one reading, writing, math, and executive function instruction
  • Push as needed into the regular classroom to support students on caseload 
  • Maintain organized, up-to-date records and provide informative reports at regularly scheduled Parent-Teacher Conferences and annual ISP/22:6 meetings
  • Partner with parents to understand specific learning profiles and promote opportunities for individual student growth
  • Demonstrate understanding and application of tiered models of student support
  • Monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly
  • Support the development and implementation of academic accommodations and modifications for students with identified learning needs- both in the classroom and for standardized testing
  • Write and implement individual student plans for students with mild to moderate learning disabilities
  • Collaborate with staff, administrators, instructional staff, other school personnel, and parents/legal guardians for the purpose of improving the overall quality of student achievement
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
