Description


We are looking to hire a full-time student pastor/director who will oversee our student ministry (grades 6-12). Our student ministry (named Tribe) has nearly tripled in size in the last year and continues to grow. We have nearly 40 kids on the roster. We average about 30 kids for student services. As the student pastor/director, your primary responsibilities will be to teach, disciple and fellowship with students. In addition to weekly Wednesday night gatherings, the student ministry participates in camps, retreats, missions’ projects and other various off-site events. The Director of Student Ministries will have opportunities to also serve in other areas depending on your gifts and talents (worship, production, video, graphics, discipleship, teaching, preaching, etc.). This is a full-time salaried position plus medical benefits. 


Responsibilities

  • Developing and leading weekly student services for middle and high school students.
  • Regularly teach/preach during student services. 
  • Create a compelling culture and environment that students are excited about and into which they are excited to invite their friends.
  • Help students discover their gifts and connect them to appropriate ministry and serving opportunities in the church
  • Train and disciple existing adult youth volunteers and recruit new ones 
  • Plan and execute Sunday Student Services where the students serve in “big church” in variousministries (worship, production, ushering, greeting, coffee team, etc.).
  • Coordinating and participating in student annual retreats, conferences, mission trips, outreach events and special events.
  • Regularly meeting with students outside of youth group for hangouts and discipleship
  • Increasing GGC’s presence in local schools in order to connect with current and prospective students.
  • Overseeing The Bridge (Sunday school ministry for 5-8th graders). Choose curriculum, schedule teachers, teach at least once a month.
  • Oversee and balance the student ministry budget. 
  • Assist in church-wide events such as VBS, Harvest Party, Day4Hope and other events.
  • Be a team player by being willing to do any other duties as they come up.

Requirements


Qualifications

  • Agreement with the vision, values and doctrine of GGC. 
  • Demonstrate spiritual maturity by living out the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5)
  • Bachelor’s degree from a Bible college or seminary preferred. 
  • Preferred 2+ years in youth ministry. Volunteer experience will be considered.
  • Possess deep knowledge of Scripture and be able to communicate it clearly. 
  • Proficiency in graphics, social media, basic computer skill is a plus.
