The part time PE teacher at Covenant Christian School, has the opportunity to inspire students to lead active and healthy lives while integrating a Biblical worldview into the physical education instruction. This position is part-time, consisting of two days per week. You will meet with each class for 30 minutes, 2 times a week.
Expectations:
- Pray regularly with and for the students, parents, faculty and staff of Covenant Christian School.
- Teaches knowledge and skills in physical fitness, health education, rhythms and dance, and individual, dual, or team sports.
- Plans a balanced physical education program.
- Analyzes, demonstrates, and explains basic skills and strategies of formal sports, games rhythms, and fundamentals of body movement.
- Provides appropriate safety instruction and makes safety checks on equipment and field areas to insure the over-all safety of pupils.
- Maintains control of storage and use of school-owned property.
- Establishes and maintains standards of pupil behavior needed to provide an orderly, productive environment in the physical education areas.
- Evaluates each pupil’s growth in physical skills, knowledge, and contribution in team sports.
- Selects and requisitions equipment, and instructional aids.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the administration team.
- Teaches image bearers according to Covenant’s mission, vision and distinctives.
- Encourages students and staff to be grace-filled (humble, patient, forgiving and loving) in their relationships with one another as displayed through competitive activities.
- Develops integral, innovative lessons that are challenging and age-appropriate.
- Upholds professional standards and expectations as outlined in CCS Personnel Handbook
Salary: Hourly
Requirements
1. A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
2. An active member of an evangelical Christian church, professing Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior
3. A demonstrated ability to teach students with excellence at indicated grade levels
