Zion Lutheran Church in Castroville Texas, seeks to call a lead pastor to join us as a witness for Christ in this rapidly growing community.
The Community
In 1844 Castroville was established by Alsatian and German settlers on the banks of the Medina river just west of San Antonio. Today Castroville still cherishes their roots. It is located less than a half hour from downtown San Antonio. Castroville boasts one of the most highly rated and fastest growing school districts in Texas. Medina Valley ISD offers many opportunities for student growth both in and out of the classroom. Community events include Fiorella Friday, Old Fashion Christmas, the 4th of July Parade, the Tour de Castroville and the Poppy Festival. Popular activities in Castroville include hiking, biking, hunting, fishing, shopping, golfing, and sight-seeing.
The Church
Zion Lutheran Church, established in 1852, is deeply rooted in our town’s history. We envision being a witness for Christ in this burgeoning community. Our ministries include vacation Bible school, adult and children’s Sunday school, choir and hand bell players, a prayer chain, and various other community outreach ministries. The church has a mix of families that have been at Zion for generations, along with many families that are new to the area.

Requirements
Zion Castroville is looking for a lead pastor who can is committed to preaching the Word in an engaging manner. The ideal candidate will have a vision for how we can maintain our commitment to this historic community while making disciples of Christ among the growing population in the community. The candidate should hold to the LCMC statement of faith.
