Associate Pastor

Function:
To work with the lead pastor in shepherding the flock through visitation and other means of communication, preach and teach as scheduled by the lead pastor, do outreach within our community, lead our communications team (including: social media accounts [FB, X, IG, YT – including posts and reels/shorts], church sign, and any other means of communication on behalf of the church; does not include A/V, tech, etc.), and perform other ministerial duties in absence of the lead pastor. One may begin a “niche” ministry as well (Senior adults, singles, youth, children, evangelism, etc.) so long as the primary mission is to glorify God and make disciples.
All of the above is under the direction of the Lead Pastor. The Lead Pastor will give specific direction to the Associate Pastor as to his areas of direct responsibilities.
Salary: $0-$29K
Requirements
Qualifications:
Qualifications of all pastors are found in I Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9.
The pastor must be an ordained minister of the gospel and it is preferred that he have a four year degree from a conservative Bible College. Experience in the pastoral ministry is preferred but not required. Being that Highland View and the Lead Pastor subscribe to the 1689 Second London Baptist Confession of Faith, it is required that the associate be reformed/Calvinistic in his soteriology.
Workweek:
The Associate pastor would be expected to work 15-20 hours a week (salaried pay). This time would be divided up as he sees fit, but as approved by the Lead Pastor. The main concern is that the flock is being well taken care of each week.
Vacation/Time Off:
The associate pastor will be given two weeks of vacation each year for the first three years. An additional week to be given every two years up until five weeks of vacation. (1-3 years = 2 weeks vacation; 4-5 years = 3 weeks vacation; 6-7 years = 4 weeks vacation; 8+ years = 5 weeks vacation).
Sick days and personal days are okay so long as approved by the Lead Pastor.
Preaching Schedule:
Opportunities to preach will be given at the discretion of the Lead Pastor, however one may expect to preach every 2-3 months, and one full month in the summer.
