The Department of Admissions at Covenant Seminary is seeking applications for the position of part-time (20 hrs./week) Admissions Counselor. The position reports to the Director of Admissions.

Department Goals and Responsibilities:

The Admissions Counselor represents Covenant Theological Seminary to prospective students, applicants, and incoming students. The Admissions Counselor identifies and serves prospective students by informing them of seminary programs, admissions processes, seminary life, financial aid, and encouraging them to apply. The position helps applicants submit all necessary credentials for admission, evaluates applicants for admission, and facilitates the matriculation of accepted applicants. In addition, all Admissions Counselors are responsible for representing the Seminary in the field to the public. 

Position Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Director of Admissions and the Senior Director of Enrollment Management to execute and implement the strategic enrollment plan.
  • Collaborate and maintain recruitment guidelines and goals to use for future recruitment efforts.
  • Manage admissions accounts to guide applicants through the application process, counsel them regarding degree program choice, and facilitate the matriculation of accepted students.
  • Use the Customer Relationship Management system to help keep track of communication to prospective students and necessary data for reporting for each applicant.
  • Review prospective student applications for admission.
  • Research and verify the accuracy of application information. Follow-up with students to verify any application issues, including discrepancies or missing information
  • Coordinate applicant approval process with various educational departments as needed.
  • Meet with prospective students through scheduled appointments to introduce them to the seminary, give counsel regarding degree program choice, answer questions, and provide a tour of the campus.
  • Plan and coordinate Preview Days and new student orientations with various departments and delegating tasks among teams.
  • Coordinate campus visits.
  • Represent the Seminary on field visits, including transportation, setup, and takedown of Seminary recruiting displays and publications; reinforce Seminary ties on such field trips (e.g., with alumni and college faculty).
  • Plan, organize, and coordinate other on-campus and online recruitment events as requested.
  • Participate and play an active role in Covenant Seminary’s student events.
  • Train other Admissions Team and Student Ambassadors on campus tours etiquette and procedures.
  • Carry out additional special events or projects as assigned by the Director of Admissions and the Senior Director of Enrollment Management.

Salary: Hourly


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Exhibits excellent personal relationship, communication, and public speaking skills.
  • Strong time management skills, adaptable, and works well independently.
  • Adaptable to different situations.
  • Demonstrates outstanding customer service and the desire to serve prospective students.
  • Has strong computer skills and is able to learn to use Slate CRM and Office 365 products.
  • Has strong character, discretion, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Possesses theological awareness.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous sales or marketing experience.
  • Positive personality.
  • Faithfulness and dependability.
  • Student enrolled at Covenant Theological Seminary.
  • Self-motivated.
