Summary
The Junior High Pastor is responsible for leading First Free’s ministry to students in grades 6-8. This includes:
- Provide leadership and vision to Junior High volunteers.
- Develop students and volunteers through the use of the Leadership Pipeline.
- Assist in creating weekly programs, special events, retreats, mission trips, and camps designed to facilitate students’ spiritual development.
- Provide Pastoral care to students and their families.
Structure
This position is a full-time, salaried (exempt) position of approximately 45-50 hours per week. The Junior High Pastor is part of the Family Ministries team and reports directly to the Pastor of Family Ministries.
Responsibility
- Providing Biblically anchored content that meets Junior High students where they are
- Strategically and meaningfully partner with parents to shepherd their families.
- Oversee recruitment and training of volunteers.
- Work with staff to develop leadership pathways for students and volunteers.
- Provide pastoral care for students, parents, and leaders.
- Create opportunities for students to serve and connect with the church body.
- Oversee the planning and administration of Junior High camps, retreats, mission trips, and events.
- Lead Junior High team to adhere to the Student Ministry’s safety/security procedures.
- Oversee applicable portions of the Student Ministry budget.
- Support the mission and vision of First Free Church.
- Continue to grow professionally and spiritually by participating in outside opportunities, such as conferences, seminars, reading, and networking.
- Other duties as assigned.
Salary: $30K-$59K

Minimum Qualifications
- Four-year college degree or greater. Seminary or formal Bible training is a plus.
- Experience leading a student ministry of 50 - 100 students.
- Proven success in the following areas:
- Recruiting, leading, and equipping adult volunteers
- Providing Biblically sound and engaging content for large and small groups
- Implementing and facilitating healthy small group ministries
- Organizing, planning, and administrating student events, trips and activities
