Description


Purpose:   

To make and mature disciples to have full-engagement with Redeemer from initial contact through assimilation, discipleship, and gift-development to serve the Lord where called.  

  • Full-engagement – members committed to worship God, grow in their relationship with Christ and His church, and serve others with joy  
  • Assimilation – developing a relational bond with Redeemer through informal interactions, church activities, LIFE Groups (small group ministry), and becoming church members  
  • Discipleship – regularly growing in a relationship with Christ and His church through Worship, Bible studies, LIFE Groups, D-groups (discipleship group), and/or Sunday school.  
  • Gift-development – Being known enough to receive accurate counsel on gift discovery, develop gifts through serving in various ways, and regularly deploy gifts as the Lord calls  

Ministry Functions:   

  1. Function as Primary Point Person for Pastoral Care  
  2. Visitation  
  3. Regularly make in-home visits to the elderly and home-bound 
  4. Make hospital visits  
  5. Schedule introductory visits with visitors and new members 
  6. Seek to enfold those on the margins of the church  
  7. Hospitality  
  8. Be part of the pastors’ rotation at Open Houses  
  9. Host people at home  
  10. Meal meetings  
  11. Coordinate Assimilation  
  12. Connect visitors with members and ministries  
  13. Connect attendees and members to LIFE Groups  
  14. Connect attendees to Redeemer’s membership process  
  15. Coordinate Discipleship  
  16. Lead a LIFE Group  
  17. Promote, coordinate and recruit leaders for the LIFE Group system  
  18. Recruit and develop leaders in D-groups   
  19. Manage Adult Sunday School  
  20. Encourage and equip Bible study leaders  
  21. Train members in evangelism  
  22. Provide counseling as needed  
  23. Coordinate Gift-Development  
  24. Document new members self-perceived areas of strength  
  25. Work with LIFE Group leaders to help others discover their gifts  
  26. Work with Ministry Leaders to help others develop their gifts  
  27. Recruit members to regularly deploy their gifts as the Lord calls  
  28. Regularly Preach and Lead Worship (to be defined by session) 
  29. Staff Liaison  
  30. Oversee Women’s Ministries, Men’s Ministries, Discipleship Ministries, and Hospitality Ministries 
  31. Provide monthly reports to the session  
  32. Any other duties as assigned by session and/or senior pastor.

Requirements


Qualifications:  

  • Ordained or ordainable in the OPC, PCA, or another NAPARC church  
  • Recognition of requisite maturity in character and doctrine by the session  
  • Is gifted in private ministry of the Word (e.g., one-on-one, and small group environments).  
  • Feels called and is content to serve in an associate role.   
  • Has the passion and ability to work with teams of people to develop ministry.   
  • Is committed to Redeemer’s mission, vision, and philosophy of worship.
