Teacher Assistant: 2-Year-Olds Room (Part-Time)


Christ Community Lutheran School is currently seeking qualified candidates of strong Christian character to work in our Early Childhood Education (ECE) ministry as a Teacher Assistant.


Candidates must be equipped to:


  • Share the Gospel of Jesus Christ in word and action.
  • Assist the lead teacher in creating and implementing a developmentally appropriate, comprehensive program for early childhood students.
  • Motivate children to develop socially, emotionally, physically, intellectually, and spiritually in the ECE program as they prepare for kindergarten.
  • Establish collaborative relationships with ECE staff members.
  • Create a partnership with the parents/guardians in the ECE program.


Position basics:


  • Part-time only (29-30 hours per week)
  • Every day, five days a week (Monday through Friday)
  • Regular hours are 12 p.m. until 6 p.m.
  • Academic year/ten months (August through May)
  • Summer camp employment may be available, but not required
  • Hourly Pay: $12-$14/hr., commensurate with college degree level

Requirements


Experience and credentials:


  • Experience working with children in a ministry or school setting is required.
  • A bachelor's degree is preferred but not required.
  • A degree or certificate in Education, Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related course of study is preferred.
  • CPR certification is required. A certification course will be provided to you if you do not possess current certification.


Physical requirements of the position:


  • This position requires the ability to lift and carry a child 20+ lbs.
  • This position involves moderate lifting 15-40 lbs. and occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • This position involves daily kneeling, stooping, bending, and sitting on the floor to attend to children’s needs.
  • This position requires the ability to quickly rise from a sitting position on the floor to a standing position.
  • This position requires being on your feet for several hours at a time.
