Children's Ministry Coordinator
Location: True Life Community Church, St. Charles, MO
Position: Part-Time - Children’s Ministry Coordinator
Reports To: Pastor
We are a vibrant, community-focused church in St Charles, MO dedicated to nurturing the spiritual growth and development of children, families and communities. We are seeking a passionate and organized individual to join our team as the Children’s Ministry Coordinator. This role is integral to supporting and overseeing the children's programs, ensuring a safe, fun, and enriching environment for children to grow in their faith.
Position Summary: The Children's Ministry Coordinator will be responsible for a variety of tasks related to the planning, coordination, and execution of all children’s ministry activities. This includes volunteer coordination, curriculum planning, training, and overseeing weekly programming such as Sunday morning classes, AWANA, and special outreach events. Engages, educates and supports parents empowering their children to be disciple makers. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, a heart for children, and a commitment to creating an environment that supports both their spiritual and personal growth. The candidate shall be a born-again believer in Jesus and agree to the church’s constitution, bylaws, and code of conduct.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Planning Center Management:
- Develop systems of contact to both parents and volunteers
2.Volunteers and Teacher Coordination:
- Recruit, train, support and cast vision for volunteers
- Ensure kids are safe and protected while in our care
3.Sunday Morning Responsibilities:
- Oversee the implementation and proper use of gospel-centered curriculum for our children's classrooms on Sunday mornings
- Ensure curriculum and supplies are distributed and volunteers understand what’s expected of them
- Work to equip parents for the discipleship of their children
- Teach as needed
4. AWANA Commander Responsibilities:
- Provided direction, enthusiasm, leadership and support for leaders, children and parents
- Oversee the implementation and proper use of AWANA curriculum as well as scheduling and general operations
- Manages attendance, achievement, supplies, materials and inventory
5.Outreach Events & Special Programs:
- Recommend church activities to support families in the discipleship of their children
- Collaborate with the Pastor to plan, coordinate and execute outreach events for children or special programs

Requirements
Qualifications:
- High School/GED Diploma
- Strong organizational and leadership skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with children, parents, and volunteers
- Experience working with children and volunteers, ideally in a church setting
- A heart for ministry and a passion for helping children grow in their faith
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
- Background check clearance (required)
- Training or certification in child safety (or willingness to be trained)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in children’s ministry
- Familiarity with Planning Center or similar ministry management tools
- Experience with AWANA or other children’s programs
