Position Title: Senior Pastor
Reports To: Session
Overview: The Senior Pastor serves as the spiritual leader of the church, responsible for shepherding the congregation, providing vision and leadership, and ensuring the church operates in alignment with its statement of faith. This individual will preach, teach, guide spiritual growth of the congregation, and provide pastoral care while overseeing the administrative, pastoral, and outreach functions of the church
Key Responsibilities:
Spiritual Leadership: Prepare and deliver weekly sermons, Bible Studies, and other teachings that are biblically sound and relevant. Lead the congregation in worship, prayer, and spiritual growth. Foster a sense of community, discipleship, and service within the church.
Vision and Strategic Leadership: Work with Church leadership to develop and communicate the church's vision, mission, and goals. Provide direction and oversight for church programs, ministries, and outreach efforts. Identify and equip leaders within the congregation for ministry roles.
Pastoral Care. Provide counseling, encouragement, and support to individuals and families in the church. Conduct weddings, funerals, baptisms, and other significant ceremonies as needed. Visit and support members who are sick, homebound, or in crisis.
Administrative Leadership: Oversee church staff and volunteers. Partner with the church board to manage the church's finances, budget, and resources responsibly.
Community Outreach. Serve as a visible representative of the church within the local community. Support and encourage evangelism and outreach initiatives.
Education: A Master of Divinity or equivalent theological degree from and accredited institution is preferred.
Experience: Strong knowledge of Scripture and theology. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proven ability to work with others. A heart for preaching the word of God, discipleship, and congregational care. A mature relationship with Jesus Christ, demonstrating spiritual depth and integrity. Commitment to the church's mission, vision, and core values. Ability to build relationships. Willingness to maintain a visible and active presence in the church. Agreement with the church's doctrinal statement. Successful completion of a background check.
Salary: $60K-$89K

How to Apply
The Community Church of Kamrar has been active in Hamilton County since 1875. Founded by German Immigrants to the area, it was originally a member of the Presbyterian Church USA until leaving the denomination in October of 1980. This difficult decision came because of denominational pressures to compromise long-held beliefs and to adopt more liberal theologies and policies.
While Kamrar Community Church is nestled among the farm fields east of Kamrar, the church is widely known throughout the community for its care, compassion, activity, and adherence to a conservative and evangelical believe of the Scriptures. It boasts an active congregation, Sunday Schools, youth group, vacation bible school, and real sense of community.
Interested candidates will be asked to address there thoughts and believes on some Biblical Topics such as: The Bible, Marriage, Baptism, Communion, Prayer, the role of the senior Pastor, the role of the Youth Director.
The salary package comes with the addition of a Manse on the church property should applicants be interested in the residence. Funds may also be allocated for continuing education or additional stipends for other benefits.
While not a member of a denomination, the congregation still adheres to the Westminster Standards as key to informing there working out of the scripture in their practice of obedience. Applicants will benefit from the opportunity to take part in the activities in nearby Webster City, Ames, or Fort Dodge. Two primary school districts are near the church and include Webster City or South Hamilton community schools.
Approximately 100-140 attendees each Sunday.
