Covenant Theological Seminary seeks a dedicated and personable Internship Coordinator to join our Counseling Department part time (18 hours/week). This key role will help shape internship experiences, develop inter-site relationships, and support the next generation of counselors. The position includes managing the practicum and internship programs, offering mentorship, and providing career support as students work toward licensure. Following in the Covenant ethos, the coordinator will work in a dynamic, supportive environment to have a direct impact on students' professional and personal development through collaboration with faculty, site supervisors, and other staff to ensure that students are well-prepared for their counseling careers and their future roles as leaders in the field. 


Covenant is committed to developing counselors who are not only skilled in their practice but also deeply rooted in the Gospel. The Internship Coordinator will play a vital role in preparing students to meet the needs of a hurting world, guided by a deep sense of calling and compassion.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Practicum & Internship Management: Coordinate and oversee the placement, training, and mentoring of students in practicum and internship sites. Work closely with the Counseling Department Director to ensure that students are matched with appropriate sites, that placements are well-organized, and that students receive the guidance they need to succeed.


  • Licensure & Career Support: Help students and recent graduates navigate licensure requirements and job placement by offering resume assistance, job search training, and guidance on state licensure processes. Build lasting relationships with alumni and local job markets to better support students’ career goals.


  • Student Support & Mentorship: Provide hands-on support to students as they balance their coursework and new counseling responsibilities. Offer mentorship and guidance to ensure their success in both academic and practical settings.


  • Collaborative Teamwork: Work closely with other faculty, administration, and staff to achieve the goals of the Seminary, actively contributing to the broader mission of Covenant Theological Seminary.

Requirements


  • Education & Experience:  MA in Counseling required, and must and possess licensure as a Professional Counselor (LPC). Covenant Theological Seminary alumni are preferred. Christian faith is a requirement. 


  • Skills & Qualities: Highly organized and detail-oriented individual who thrives in a collaborative environment. Strong communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to maintain confidentiality are essential. A passion for Covenant’s mission and a heart for helping students succeed is a must!
