Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Elementary Teacher to join our 1st grade team. The ideal candidate will embrace the Charlotte Mason philosophy, demonstrating a deep understanding of its principles and a commitment to nurturing the intellectual, spiritual, and emotional growth of each student. This position reports directly to the Director of Teaching.
Employee Status & Compensation:
Status: .6875 FTE; 10-month position, 27.5 hours/week based on class schedule (8:00am – 1:15pm)
Salary Range: $40,000 – $50,000 commensurate with education and qualified experience for 1.0 (or the equivalent of) full time employees
Standard Benefits: holidays, school breaks, PTO, tuition reduction for employee children

Primary Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons incorporating living books, narration, and hands-on activities.
- Create a positive and respectful classroom environment that encourages curiosity and a love for learning.
- Establish strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues to support a collaborative and supportive learning community.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to continuously enhance teaching skills and stay updated on educational best practices.
Salary: $30K-$59K
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field
- Valid teaching certification for elementary education is preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Passion for creating a positive and nurturing learning environment.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students.
