Description
The Associate Pastor will serve in this capacity for 2-3 years (depending on the hire date) and then transition to the role of Senior Pastor. During this initial transition period, the Associate Pastor will:
Develop and sustain a ministry to young parents.
Share preaching duties with the Senior Pastor on a regularly scheduled basis.
Be involved in one or more of the teaching ministries of the church.
Engage in a visitation ministry, endeavoring to visit each family unit of the church.
Help to develop an evangelistic outreach program to the community.
Assist the Senior Pastor with communion, marriage ceremonies, funerals, etc.
The Associate Pastor is responsible directly to the Senior Pastor and Elder Board.

Requirements
Must have a seminary degree, or at least within the last year of obtaining a degree.
It is not necessary to be ordained at this point, but would need to prior to becoming senior pastor.
Would need to be in line with our statement of faith and compatible with the Senior Pastor and elders.
Have a heart for rural ministry.
Ministry experience is preferred.
The responsibility of the Associate Pastor should be first to God, second to his family (if married), and third to the church. He should guard his own spiritual life as he pursues personal holiness and godliness. He shall honor his commitments to his family and conduct all his affairs in an upright manner (See 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1). His family shall demonstrate support for his ministry.
