Description
Leadership & Vision
● Develop and communicate a vision for the Children’s Ministry aligned with the church’s
mission.
● Set short- and long-term goals; oversee vision statements for ministry programs.
● Lead annual events (e.g., Kids In Motion Camp, Easter Egg Hunt, Trunk or Treat).
● Oversee the Special Needs Coordinator, Children’s Ministry Assistant, and volunteers
across various children’s ministry programs.
Recruitment & Training
● Recruit, screen, and train leaders, teachers, and volunteers.
● Conduct regular planning and training meetings.
● Ensure volunteers comply with child protection policies.
Program Oversight
● Select and oversee curriculum to support discipleship and evangelism.
● Equip teachers and supervise Sunday ministries for a welcoming, safe, and
Christ-centered environment.
● Partner with the Special Needs Coordinator to implement inclusive programs.
● Support parent discipleship efforts alongside pastoral staff.
Administration
● Manage the Children’s Ministry budget and promote programs through church
communications.
● Organize children’s events at New Life (e.g., Sunday School, Kids Clubs) and childcare.
● Participate in staff meetings and church-wide initiatives.
● Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall mission and goals of the
Children’s Ministry and church.
Professional & Spiritual Development
● Pursue ministry training and networking opportunities.
●Stay current with resources and best practices for children’s ministry.
Salary: $60K-$89K
Requirements
Personal & Spiritual Qualifications
● A deep love for Jesus, His Church, and a passion for discipling the next generation.
● A shepherd’s heart for children and families.
● Active membership in an evangelical church and willingness to join New Life within a
year.
●Agreement with the Westminster Confession of Faith and commitment to spiritual
growth and church life.
Professional Qualifications
● Proven experience in leading and teaching children’s ministry.
● Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
● Ability to recruit, train, and supervise volunteers and staff.
● Commitment to equipping lay leaders (Ephesians 4:12).
● Knowledge of child protection policies and best practices.
