Description
FirstLight’s Spouse Care Ministry is seeking a part-time employee who is interested in receiving training and providing care for the women who come to FirstLight to heal from sexual betrayal.
This position is part-time, hourly and considered entry-level for any care team staff member at FirstLight.
The successful candidate will meet the following criteria:
• A Christian woman with a heart to offer care for women wrestling with the impact of sexual betrayal
• A team-player able to accomplish tasks in a relational manner
• Approachable, grounded in grace and compassion
• Willing to follow curriculum guidelines
• A member of an evangelical church and who can affirm FirstLight’s statement of faith and statement on sexual ethics.
• Understands common grace: interested in integrating modern psychological practices with a robust theological understanding of humanity as revealed in Scripture
• Motivated to educate herself about issues regarding sexuality, addiction, soul care, psychology, and research pertaining to healing from betrayal and relational wounds
• Transparent with FirstLight staff about her own journey and efforts to follow Christ in regards to sexuality and betrayal as applicable
• Able to work several nights per week and occasional weekends
The person in this position will be responsible for the following:
• Facilitate at least two groups of 6-8 women each through a 10-month curriculum. Groups meet at night.
• Attend required (paid) training sessions prior to facilitating
• Attend weekly Staff Meetings (Fridays from 9-11 AM) and Monthly Community Dinners
• Commit to facilitate at least two (10-month) group cycles (e.g. if trained by August 2025, commit to facilitate groups through August 2027)
• After first full year of part-time employment, Care Team Staff are eligible to apply for full-time care positions within the organization, such as entry-level therapist positions or full-time roles in our discipleship programs
• Develop awareness of how the entire FirstLight program works
Salary: Hourly
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have advanced training in understanding the Bible, theology, and small group discipleship. Training in pastoral care and counseling is also highly desirable. Candidates who hold, or who are pursuing, a Master’s degree in a related ministry field—such as a Master’s in theology, divinity, and/or counseling—are preferred. Those who hold, or who are pursuing, dual Master’s degrees in counseling and divinity are ideal.

The position pays $18-22 per hour depending on experience and education for 10-15 hours per week.
