Description
The Middle School Coordinator at The Journey West County is responsible for leading the spiritual formation and community engagement of students in grades 6–8. This part-time role focuses on creating a welcoming environment where middle schoolers can explore their faith, build meaningful relationships, and develop as followers of Jesus.
The Coordinator will plan and facilitate weekly gatherings, special events, and discipleship opportunities while collaborating with the Director of Journey Students to ensure alignment with the overall student ministry strategy.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Plan and lead weekly (Sunday morning) middle school gatherings that include teaching, worship, and small group discussions
- Recruit, train, and mentor adult volunteers and student leaders to support middle school ministry
- Organize and oversee special events, retreats, and service projects for middle school students
- Collaborate with the Director of Journey Students to ensure a cohesive strategy across all student ministries
- Provide care and support to middle school students and their families
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with parents regarding ministry activities and student progress
- Ensure compliance with child protection policies and procedures
Status: Part-Time, Ministerial Schedule: Mon.- Sat. flexible hours; Sun. 7am-1pm Hours: 15-20 hrs/week Benefits: Retirement plan, cell phone reimbursement, paid vacation, and sick leave
