PURPOSE OF POSITION:

To lead the congregation in worshipping God and reconciling diverse people.


SUPERVISOR: Lead Pastor


DIRECT REPORT(S): Prayer Team Director, A/V Team Director


QUALIFICATIONS:

1.   Must have a growing relationship with God and a measure of Christian maturity.

2.   Must sincerely care for others and desire to help them live for the Lord.

3.   Must be willing to give sacrificially of his or herself.

4.   Must be teachable and willing to learn.

5.   Must believe in and practice our ministry philosophy of “team ministry.”

6.   Must have a personal passion for cross-cultural worship.

7.   Must have a good understanding of and leadership skill in variety of worship genres (gospel, contemporary Christian, Latino, traditional hymns, etc.).

8.   Preferred to be skilled in playing keyboard and/or guitar.

9.   Must have good leadership and people skills, especially in developing leaders.

10. Must have familiarity and ability with worship-related software (Song Select, Planning Center, ProPresenter, etc.) and hardware (audio and visual gear, etc.).

11. Must have administrative skills.

12. Ability to hold in confidence sensitive information gained through ministry.


MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.   Character

a.     Maintain his or her own spiritual health in Christ, especially by prayer, Scripture, rest, community, and marriage/parenting (where applicable).

b.    Pray regularly for the people and ministries of the church.

c.     Be active in a Connect Group.

2.   Worship Services

a.     Lead weekend worship services.

b.    Lead team rehearsals during week and before Sunday services.

3.   Worship Planning

a.     Cultivate the vision for reconciliation through a worship service characterized as biblical, cross-cultural, participatory, passionate, and celebratory.

b.    Pray over and plan services according to Scripture and theme.

c.     Develop service outlines, slides, charts, and serving schedule for team members.

d.    Arranging, writing, practicing, etc. to keep music and team creative.

e.     Oversee and coordinate with the MC’s for the worship service.

f.      Plan and coordinate the Ministry Moment segment of the worship service.

4.   Team Development

a.     Recruit, audition, and train team members.

b.    Organize gatherings for fellowship and team-building.

c.     Research on new music and creative ideas.

d.    Meet individually with team members on a regular basis.

5.   Communications

a.     Attend weekly staff meeting and quarterly staff strategy meeting.

b.    Attend weekly worship debrief and service planning meeting.

c.     Oversee and equip the Team Directors for the A/V Team and Prayer Team.

d.    Facilitate communication through email, phone, social media, etc.

6.   Miscellaneous

a.     Maintain annual budget for Worship ministry.

b.    Assist with planning for weddings, funerals, and special services with occasional participation as needed.

c.     Support the overall ministry of the church by participating in regular meetings and the overall work of discipleship.


TIME COMMITMENT:  Full-time. 


COMPENSATION: Starting base salary ranging from $40,000-$50,000 annually. Benefits based on full-time status include: health insurance, life insurance, disability insurance, matching retirement contributions up to 3%, and 2 weeks paid vacation.

Salary: $30K-$59K
