Job Description: Director of Worship

This position could largely be handled remotely, aside from Sunday mornings and occasional rehearsals.

Responsibilities:

• Be a team player. Respect and support RCC staff and ministries with a spirit of humility and

love, open to opportunities to assist others with a cheerful heart.

• Plan all worship services alongside the lead pastor in a meaningful, cohesive way that is

purposeful from beginning to end. Select songs prayerfully and thoughtfully with attention to

concept, theological accuracy, and musical appropriateness.

• Prepare all materials needed for each service, including charts, rehearsal tracks, lyrics, etc.

• Be responsible for all licensing and other related issues involving the music.

• Lead all musicians through rehearsals, services, and the overall music ministry, including

investing in them as individuals and believers in Christ.

• Oversee sound and media teams, with attention to equipment and needs for each service.

• Schedule volunteers for sound, media, band, vocals, liturgy, set-up. Manage PCO.

• Plan, prepare, and rehearse the children for their participation in special services.

• Lead the set-up and tear down teams on Sunday mornings including Communion.

• Create sermon graphics and slides for Sunday mornings (ProPresenter)

• Edit and prepare sermon video recordings. Keep updated on website.

• Provide thoughtful attention to additional items needed for worship services that are seasonal,

organizational, or consumable/disposable.

People/Volunteer Development:

• Identify and develop a worship team of vocalists and instrumentals who will provide music for

Sunday worship services and special occasions as needed.

• Develop a technical team that supports worship through audio and visual means.

The Director of Worship reports directly to the Lead Pastor.
