Part-time Worship Director
Together with the pastors, the Worship Director at Wellspring Family Church plans and facilitates Sunday morning worship, and occasional other events and services, while leading the worship team.

About Wellspring
Wellspring Family Church, an Evangelical Free Church (EFCA) located in the Saint Louis,
Missouri metro area, is passionate about worshipping the Lord and serving him together as a
church family on mission. The Worship Director will play a critical role at Wellspring, leading
worship and building into worship team members and future worship leaders. In addition, the
tech team leader reports to the Worship Director.
Wellspring is multigenerational and has average attendance of 250 people on a Sunday
morning. Formed in 2020 by the merging of two existing EFCA churches, Wellspring has
flourished in its early years and is entering an exciting phase. A new 500-seat worship center is
currently being built on the church property as part of a larger project for an upgraded and
expanded facility that will better support the church’s mission.
About the Worship Director
The Worship Director will ideally have the following traits:

• Proven. Meets the qualifications of Biblical leadership.
• Devoted. Lovingly shepherds own family first (if married) and Wellspring second.
• Blameless. Repents of known sin and lives in transparent accountability with other
believers.
• Spiritually Mature. Sincerely loves and depends on Jesus as Lord and maintains a rich
devotional life.
• Relationally Mature. Genuinely and compassionately loves people. Maintains positive and
loyal friendships.
• Mission Minded. Heart to share the gospel with those who don’t know Christ.
• Reputable. Possesses a good reputation inside and outside of the church.
• Reliable. Consistent and honors commitments.
• Wise. Well-grounded in personal understanding and application of the entire counsel of
Scripture.
• Teachable. Gentle in demeanor and is open to instruction and correction.
• Humble. Admits mistakes and extends grace to others.
• Honest. Gives and accepts feedback without pretense or defensiveness.
• Hard-Working. Doesn’t need external motivation or close supervision to accomplish work.
• Positive Attitude. Optimistic, uplifting and engaging.

• Strong musical knowledge and can train and lead other musicians and singers well.

groups (written and spoken) as well as the ability to lead the congregation in worship
services.
• Lovingly challenges and encourages worship and tech team members in their walk with the

• Recruits, empowers, trains, and equips worship team members and volunteer worship
leaders.
• Leads and casts a vision for the worship team with attention to detail.
• Develops elements (such as prayers and calls to worship) that are theologically accurate and
sensitive to Wellspring’s cultural context.
• Selects songs for Worship Services in collaboration with pastors based on sermon and our
theology of gathered worship and corporate song.
• Knows own strengths and weaknesses and delegates tasks appropriately.
• Schedules singers and instrumentalists for each worship service.
• Occasionally adds new songs to roster.
• Uses Planning Center to schedule worship teams, and keeps resources updated and
accurate.
• ProPresenter skills a plus.
• Audio engineering skills a plus.

• Agrees with EFCA Statement of Faith.
• Agrees with Wellspring’s mission and vision.
• In alignment with Lead Pastor and other Wellspring Family Church staff.
• Desires to serve humbly for building up the body of Christ.
