The Terre Haute Reformed Presbyterian Church (THRPC), nestled in Terre Haute, Indiana, is seeking a full-time Teaching Elder (Pastor).
THRPC is a congregation of about 20 households with a wide range of ages and stages of life. The congregation is a part of the Reformed Presbyterian Church of North America where exclusive psalm singing without instrumental accompaniment is joyfully practiced. Strong bonds of fellowship, prayer, and a welcoming spirit are readily evident within this body of believers.
Her elders hold to and teach the faith taught in the Holy Scriptures and summarized in The Westminster Confession of Faith and the Larger & Shorter Catechisms. In addition to these doctrinal statements, elders adhere to the Testimony of the Reformed Presbyterian Church of North America—a continuing application of God’s Word to modern issues.
Terre Haute is a quiet and affordable town with a population of approximately 60,000 residents. It is conveniently located a little over 1 hour from the Indianapolis International Airport. It is the home of Indiana State University, Rose Hulman Institute of Technology, Ivy Tech, and St. Mary of the Woods. Requirements
Requirements:
- A man marked by gifts for biblical preaching and teaching, discipleship, and leadership (1 Timothy 3:1-7; Titus 1:5-9).
- Prepared to rebuke, reprove, and exhort with complete patience in accordance with sound doctrine (2 Timothy 4:1-2; Titus 2:1, 15).
- A servant of Christ, steward of the mysteries of God, ambassador for the gospel of reconciliation (1 Corinthians 4:1-2, 10-13; 2 Corinthians 5:11-6:10).
- Ordained (or willing to be ordained) in the Reformed Presbyterian Church of North of America (RPCNA).
Desired characteristics:
- Ready to help train three recently installed deacons.
- Prepared by personal and/or ministerial experience to partner with two ruling elders in shepherding members through joyful and trying times.
