Primary Function:
To develop and oversee ministries at Old Cutler Presbyterian Church for the spiritual growth, edification, assimilation and participation of members and attenders into the life and community of the church. In addition, to carry out this role as a member of the Old Cutler staff team, working directly under/with the Senior Pastor to fulfill the vision and mission of the church.
Areas of Responsibility:
Discipleship:
· Works with the Senior Pastor on overall discipleship at the church.
· Oversees adult Christian Education by refining the vision and developing specific ministry vehicles/structures/programs, classes, and teachers to foster Christian growth and maturity.
· Carries out a regular and consistent teaching ministry in the life of the church.
· Develops, trains leaders, and oversees a thriving and growing small group ministry.
· Oversees and supports Men’s and Women’s Ministries at Old Cutler working with the designated lay leaders.
Young Families:
· Develops, in conjunction with other ministries, programing to help disciple, care for, and meet the specific needs of young families at Old Cutler.
· Works closely with the Pastor of Shepherding and Adult Ministries and the Directors of Joyland and Haven in carrying out this task.
Assimilation and New Ministries:
· Develops strategies, programs, and ministries to help assimilate visitors into the life and membership of the church. Works closely with the First Impression team and others in carrying out this task.
· Develops strategies, programs, and ministries to help new and non-active members become growing, engaged servants at Old Cutler (i.e. ministry involvement and volunteerism).
· Develops and oversees a plan to direct members called to launch new ministries within the church and to the community.
General Pastoral Responsibilities:
· Works with the Senior Pastor to promote and help implement the vision of the church.
· Assists in worship regularly.
· Preaches in rotation on Sunday mornings when the Senior Pastor is out of the pulpit.
· Performs weddings and funerals.
· Assists with other pastoral responsibilities as needed in addition to those listed above.
Salary: >=$90K
Requirements
Education:
· Completed Master of Divinity Degree or Equivalency
Credentials:
· Ordained and in good standing in the Presbyterian Church in America or able to be ordained in the PCA
Experience:
· 5 years of pastoral/ministry leadership experience
Competencies:
· Specific ministry experience in the areas stated in the job description
