Description
The Youth Ministry Resident position is a year-long internship designed to allow someone to discern their gifts in youth ministry while assisting with the Director of Youth Ministry at City Reformed Presbyterian Church. The position would primarily focus on male discipleship, and we invite male applicants with an interest in ministry and some experience working with youth to apply. We are open to renewing this position after one year.
Salary: $30K-$59K
Requirements
Expectations:
- The Youth Ministry Resident comes alongside the Director of Youth Ministry to assist in preparing for and hosting ministries for youth from 6th - 12th grade.
- The Youth Ministry Resident needs to be (or become) a member of City Reformed PCA, and needs to be able to affirm our statement of faith (“Seven Points of Agreement”).
- The Youth Ministry Resident will directly report to the Director of Youth Ministry and participate in regular supervision meetings.
Responsibilities:
- Help plan and facilitate regular Youth Ministry programming at CRPC (i.e., Sunday School (MS & HS), bi-weekly Youth Group (MS & HS), and bi-weekly Sundays at the Knauer’s (HS Only).
- Schedule and do contact work with male students (either in one-on-one or small group contexts)
- The expectation is 4-5+ one-on-ones/week.
- There are also opportunities to attend students’ extracurricular activities (e.g. sporting events, recitals and concerts, award ceremonies, etc.).
- Regularly teach at Sunday School and Youth Group Meetings.
- Attend weekly staff meetings, monthly All-Staff Meetings, and Youth Ministry Team trainings/meetings.
- Help plan and facilitate pop-up events throughout the academic year (e.g., Snow Camp, Mission Trip, etc.)
- Pursue a curriculum of continuing education in areas pertinent to related ministry focus at an accredited seminary or other qualified organization. Approval of curriculum to be made by the Director of Youth Ministry and/or the Executive Pastor.
- Serve as the Youth Ministry liaison to the Men’s Discipleship Committee in an effort to engender a mentoring culture within the male youths in the Youth Ministry.
