Description


The Press is a small, independent multi-roaster café dedicated to serving high-quality coffees from a variety of roasters. Alongside our filter and espresso offerings, we serve toasts and local pastries. We strive to create a welcoming space with excellent service, attention to detail, and kindness towards our customers.

We’re seeking a detail-oriented, enthusiastic barista to join our team.


Responsibilities

Coffee & Beverage Preparation

  • Prepare consistent, high-quality espresso and filter coffee drinks.
  • Create seasonal and signature drinks using house-made syrups.
  • Maintain and communicate knowledge of our coffees and offerings


Food Service

  • Prepare and serve toasts and pastries with care and efficiency.
  • Follow food safety guidelines and maintain a clean prep area.


Customer Service

  • Greet and engage guests with warmth and attentiveness.
  • Answer questions about our menu, coffee offerings, and café practices.
  • Ensure guests feel welcomed, comfortable, and well cared for.


Cleanliness & Maintenance

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of café and bar.
  • Monitor, clean, and perform light maintenance on brewing and espresso equipment.


Teamwork & Culture

  • Collaborate with fellow baristas and management to ensure smooth operations.
  • Support a culture of curiosity, respect, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Previous barista or food service experience is preferred.
  • Strong interest in specialty coffee and eagerness to learn.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask and stay calm in a fast-paced environment.
  • Reliability, punctuality, and attention to detail.
  • Comfort with cleaning and maintaining a tidy workspace.
