Description


The Counselor is responsible for running AGI’s internal and external counseling programs in accordance with all ethical and legal standards. The Counselor is responsible for establishing a treatment plan for each client, conducting individual counseling sessions and tracking progress. Additionally, the Counselor is responsible running the AGI loan program and assisting with AGI ministry programs. The Counselor reports to the Corporate Chaplain.


Primary Duties:

  • Complete comprehensive assessment and establish a treatment plan for each AGI client
  • Conduct individual counseling sessions with clients
  • Formulate short-term and long-term treatment plans for clients
  • Maintain progress notes for clients and work with them to establish trust and achieve the therapeutic objectives
  • Maintain client confidentiality as consistent with the ethical standards for a licensed counselor as well as the legal standards for AGI
  • Maintain documentation and client tracking to report to Corporate Chaplain
  • Maintain employee releases for AGI counseling services
  • Oversee all internal and external clinical counseling programs
  • Oversee all substance abuse programs
  • Manage AGI loan program
  • Meet with and counsel loan applicants to understand their personal/financial situation
  • Follow up with loan applicants when necessary
  • Review loan applications with Corporate Chaplain
  • Submit completed loan applications to Accounts Payable and Payroll
  • Work with Corporate Chaplain to develop group therapies for people dealing with financial crisis, divorce or separation, marital difficulties, anxiety, depression, etc.
  • Develop relationships where needed with mental health facilities/counselors, financial advisors, life-skills coaches, pastors, etc. to run trainings/ therapy groups at AGI
  • Manage Bible study group
  • Work with Corporate Chaplain to develop curriculum and learning structure
  • Work with Corporate Chaplain to come up with a strategy to engage with employees on faith and work
  • Lead regular discipleship groups and discussion groups
  • Work with Corporate Chaplain to maintain budget for counseling and metal health programs
  • Complete profession requirements for LPC (if not already obtained)
  • Attend necessary trainings and seminars for licensure

Secondary Duties:

  • Lead Bible studies on occasion
  • Assist in the leadership of the AGI volunteer program:
  • Find community partners
  • Recruit volunteers
  • Develop long-term goals and structure for volunteer program
  • Support HR team where needed

Requirements


Education Requirement – The counselor must have a minimum of a 4 year degree and a Masters of Arts in Counseling with a background in theology and Biblical studies.


Experience – 3 years of experience in ministry and/or counseling and 100 hours of counseling
