Description


The Mandarin Associate Pastor is to work under the guidance of the Mandarin Lead Pastor.

Specifically,

1. Follow the guidance of the Mandarin Lead Pastor to strengthen and grow the

existing ministries of the Mandarin Congregation.

2. Follow the guidance of the Mandarin Lead Pastor to develop new ministries that meet

the purpose of helping the Mandarin Congregation to grow in quality and/or quantity.

3. Assist in other pastoring duties, such as preaching, teaching, pastoral visitation, and

caring.

Requirements


1. Beliefs

A. Needs to hold to the Bible as the Inspired, Inerrant Word of God that is the final authority for Christian faith and life.

B. Has clear calling from God for pastoral ministry

C. Must agree with ACC's Statement of Faith.


2. Ministry Skills

A. Ability to communicate well in both Mandarin and English, and work well in team environment.

B. Ability to initiate and develop ministries.

C. Successful leadership experience in the church.

D. Confirmed gifts in teaching and preaching.


3. Education

A. Master’s degree or above from an accredited Seminary in North America


4. Experience

A. At least two years of experience in serving ethnically Chinese churches in North

America.

B. At least one year of experience in leading evangelical (outreach) and discipleship

ministries.

C. Pastoral ministry experience is a strong plus.


5. Optional Consideration

A. Being married is highly preferable. If married, there should be a strong growing

relationship together. The spouse must be very supportive of the ministry.


6. Testimony

A. Solid and close relationship with God.

B. Meets the character qualifications for elders/pastors as outlined in 1 Peter 5:1–4 and 1

Timothy 3:1–7.
