South City Community School (SCCS) is a vibrant educational institution committed to providing an enriching learning experience for students. Position Summary: Our Nursery program is committed to creating a safe, nurturing and supportive environment for our faculty and staff children ages 0-3. For the second half of the 2025-2026 school year, SCCS will serve a total of 5 faculty and staff children. The ideal candidate with work alongside another Nursery staff member. This position reports directly to the Assistant Head of School for Finance and Operations.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Staff expected to be onsite and ready to accept children no later than 8AM.
- Ensuring the children have good hygiene and changing diapers as necessary
- Cleaning interactive areas throughout the day
- Preparing meals and snacks for the kids
- Organizing activities and providing a safe and fun environment
- Assisting other staff member(s) in keeping a schedule for the children to maintain throughout the day
- Keeping daily record of each child's diaper/restroom usage, food and nap schedule plus any problems that may occur to report to parents each day.
- Maintaining contact with the children's parents and contacting them in the case of an emergency
Salary: Hourly
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Valid CPR and first-aid certifications (SCCS will provide class onsite if needed)
- Enthusiasm for working with children in an after school or recreational setting
- Strong interpersonal and communications skills, with the ability to interact positively with students, staff and parents/guardians
- Dependability, punctuality, and a willingness to assist with various tasks as needed.
- Ability to follow directions and work effectively as part of a team
- Physical stamina and the ability to perform light to moderate physical tasks, such as standing, walking, lifting and carrying
- High school diploma or equivalent
