WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Youth Director/Bible Teacher
We are looking to add a Youth Director & Bible Teacher to our church staff who has a heart for “Word-Based Ministry” and reaching and discipling teenagers with the Good News of the Gospel. This would also need to be someone who is comfortable creating something ‘from the ground up’, as it has been many years since Westminster last had a functioning youth ministry. This candidate should have a clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ and evidence of growing maturity, agreement with the theology and practice of the PCA, prior experience in youth ministry or discipleship (paid or volunteer), strong relational skills with youth and parents, and be gifted in teaching Scripture and discipling students.
Our ideal candidate for this position loves the church and values leading a ministry that is not ‘siloed’ off from the congregation. This is an individual who can be a self-starter, while also being a ‘team player’ who can work with staff and volunteers as well as maintain a teachable spirit that willingly submits to Pastor Ryan’s leadership and guidance. He would also need to be comfortable partnering with the school and operating in a classroom setting as a teacher/chaplain to the Summit Christian School students & families.
WHAT WE ARE OFFERING
Compensation: $55-60k annually, depending on qualifications and experience. (Compensation will be split between school & church)
- Includes:
- Salary
- Retirement
- HSA contribution
- Long Term Disability
- Life Insurance
Vacation/Holidays: 8 paid holidays & 2 weeks vacation annually (following guidelines laid out by church & school), plus additional consideration for conferences, classes, mission trips, etc.
Tuition Assistance: Any of your children K-8th may attend Summit Christian School at minimal cost for fees, uniforms, etc. provided you qualify and utilize StepUp funding to offset costs.
Work Environment: Personal desk, work computer, and a beautiful church campus which is located only 6 miles from the beach(!)

WHO WE ARE
Westminster Presbyterian Church is a PCA congregation in Fort Myers, FL with rich biblical teaching, passionate liturgical worship, Gospel-centered discipleship, caring and committed fellowship, and a heart for missions and evangelistic outreach.
In terms of leadership, we have 7 elders on session (2 Teaching Elders and 5 Ruling Elders), 8 deacons, and a staff that consists of Ryan Broadhurst (Senior Pastor), Gage Jordan (Assistant Pastor of Families & Outreach), VACANT (Worship & Media Director), VACANT (Youth Director/Bible Teacher), Traci Mays (Children’s Director, Part-time), Veronica Van Winkle (Administrative Assistant, Part-time), and Sarah Taylor (Interim Head of School for Summit Christian School).
Our mission at Westminster PCA is to be a Gospel-Driven, Word-Based, Church-Oriented, Mission-Minded people who worship Jesus for his glory and our good. Pastor Ryan’s heart is to preach & teach God’s Word with clarity, compassion, and conviction and to shepherd this congregation well by creating a culture of humility, joy, and Gospel-centrality above all. Our ministry philosophy is that “the Word does the work”. God does extraordinary things through His ordinary means of grace, whether that be during corporate worship on Sundays, in small groups and classes, amongst families, or in 1-1 discipleship. We also believe in team-oriented ministry where we collaborate, encourage, and advise one another for the betterment of this church community and furtherance of the mission of God.
Being located in Southwest Florida, we experience the ebbs and flows of seasonal ministry, where we currently average about 190 on Sunday mornings from May to October and 250 from November to April. We also are enthusiastic about our mission school, Summit Christian School, here on campus which has about 120 students enrolled in K - 8th grade, many of whom come from families that do not attend church anywhere and present a prime environment for outreach.
