Positions reporting to him/her: eventual part-time staff person and all Youth ministry volunteers
Mission of the Church: Redeemer Presbyterian Church is a worshipping community that exists to be transformed by God’s grace into faithful servants of all by following Christ, connecting with each other, and engaging the world.
Purpose of the Position: To faithfully shepherd Redeemer middle and high school students in a deepening life with God by building relationships, teaching the ways of Christ, training and equipping parents and volunteers, and integrating students into the full life of the Church.

Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
- Demonstrated affection for Christ and His Church.
- Love for, and leadership of, youth and their families.
- Proficiency in teaching Scripture.
- Energized by collaboration with other ministry directors and pastors.
- Relational ability to lead in a volunteer framework.
- Deep understanding of the spiritual lives of adolescents.
- Strategic, organizational, shepherding, and managerial excellence.
- Commitment to a Christ-centered approach to Scripture.
- Embrace of Reformed and Covenantal theology.
- Embrace of Redeemer’s mission, vision, values, and philosophy of ministry.
- Appropriate Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- At least five years of youth ministry experience preferred.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Shepherd Youth and their Families
- Build meaningful relationships with youth and families.
- Teach students the Scriptures winsomely, clearly, and regularly.
- Attend to the needs of our youth, especially in crises and transitions.
- Have fun with students and leaders and help them experience true joy.
- Develop a clear and compelling ministry for all youth of Redeemer.
- Pastorally care for volunteers and lay leaders.
- Develop core curricula and scope and sequence with the Pastor of Formation.
Safeguard a Culture of Love and Trust
- Maintain an environment of warmth and welcome, grace and truth, reliance and courage.
- Communicate clearly around expectations, hopes, and purposes of Youth ministry efforts.
- Develop feedback opportunities for youth, families, and volunteers.
- Diligently implement Redeemer’s Protection Policy and keep the highest standards for physical and emotional safety.
Develop and Maintain Youth Ministries of Redeemer
- Employing regular gatherings for middle and high school students.
- Cultivate individual discipleship and evangelistic relationships.
- Organize Sunday School, camps, retreats, and mission and service opportunities.
- Continue to work with sister churches in our joint efforts in Youth ministry.
- Ensure systematic touch points and contact work for youth.
Integrate Youth into the full Life of Redeemer
- Expand opportunities for students to be known and mentored.
- Partner with Children’s Director for seamless entrance into Youth ministry.
- Work with Worship Director to involve students in worship.
- Collaborate with all Directors and Pastors to ensure cohesive involvement of youth in all areas of church life.
Lead and Manage Systems
- Oversee the recruiting, equipping, and encouraging of volunteers.
- Maintain effective systems:
- Volunteer management
- Attendance tracking
- Key performance measures
- Use of Youth House
- Budget oversight
- Planning and calendars
- Communication
