Religious | Presbyterian Church in America
Full-Time
Posted: Mar 4, 2026
Application Deadline: Jun 1, 2026
Description
Purpose: to work with the Pastor and leadership in shepherding and discipling the members
and neighbors of Deep Run Church—organizing, administering, and developing its worship,
nurture, and witness—while maturing as a healthy, upcoming pastoral leader in Christ’s church.
Summary: the Pastoral Resident will gain practical ministry experience under the primary
mentoring of the Senior Pastor, and will enhance the staff’s pastoral ministry to the
congregation and local community. The Pastoral Residency Program aims to help a developing
or future pastor mature holistically as 1) a man for God’s own heart, 2) a shepherd for God’s
own people, and 3) a missionary for a lost world.
Our Residency Program highlights development in 1) Spiritual Formation, 2) Self Care, 3) Cultural and Emotional Intelligence, 4) Marriage and Family, and 5) Leadership and Management. But we'll fine-tune each residency based upon the unique gifting and story of each Resident.
Deep Run Church’s historical “DNA” reveals traits of leadership-development and next-gen investment that complement the Made to Flourish organization’s vision of developing churches as “training hospitals” for future ministry leaders. Pastor Brian LoPiccolo for years has mentored Christians who became lay leaders in churches, vocational pastors, or college campus-ministers. Now we are partnering with Made to Flourish in developing future senior leaders, by equipping them through a two-year Residency with us, then helping them launch into sustainable ordained ministry in the broader church. You can view our Residency Profile, and if interested in applying, please see our Residency Position Description.
