Description
My 90 year old mother is returning home after a stroke left her will minimal language. She is mobile and considered a "minimal assist." She uses the bathroom easily (needs on and off help only). While my husband and I will care for my mom as she returns home, we are looking to supplement this with outside help.
We are looking for several options:
A female who would want to live there/sleep there at nights in case she needed help. So far she easily sleeps through the night and does not get up for the bathroom. We can provide housing, but cannot accommodate furniture although we could store some on site. We would compensate this person as well, but part of the compensation would be housing. The home is about 5 minutes from campus. At this point I think we offer a minimum of a six-month agreement in case she was no longer living.
We could use day help too. Probably a minimum of 4-5 hours at least. Does not need to be every day of the week. But we do need a basic schedule.

Requirements
The applicant needs to be Covid careful in not in other settings that expose her to significant Covid risk. We can discuss this. In addition, the applicant needs to be kind, willing to interact with mom in reading and playing simple games. The applicant will prepare breakfast/lunch/dinner depending on schedule--these items will be provided and the employee should eat with mom. There will likely be time to study as well.
At this point, I mostly want someone who can keep up the kitchen well. Make a mess, clean it up. Put all dishes away--maybe the best way to say it is like the Girl Scouts-better than you found it. Light housekeeping and laundry may be needed from time to time, but I do have a house cleaner for her and the laundry is minimal right now.
