Description

The Oquossoc Union Church has been in existence since the early 1900s. Three trustees oversee two months of worship services for a congregation of 75-90 each Sunday in July and August. The current pastor, Rev. Tony MacNaughten (a retired Presbyterian minister from New Jersey) has been overcome with a severe illness and will not be able to serve the community this summer. We are a mix of full time residents, summer residents and year round people that are focused on learning the Word of God. In the Summer, the area is focused on fishing, boating, hiking and outdoor events that attract a wide variety of people from New England and all parts of the world. This position is preaching the Word of God with Biblical references to Protestants and Catholics and a wide range of denominations. The appeal needs to be on the conservative side, since this area of Maine is more conservative that the rest of New England. The congregation's distribution includes loggers, carpenters, business people, investment bankers, lawyers and doctors. A unique and interesting mix of individuals.

We have no preconception of the person who answers this call, but want a down to earth, sincere, and dedicated clergy representative that can relate to our needs.
